Listen to the unique POV of a Risk Management veteran.

Tim has especially strong opinions on risk registers and how did the world go so wrong interpreting what the term "risk management" means.

According to Tim, CEOs and boards rarely make any significant decisions using those risks lists that they get or those risk profiles.

The major takeway of this episode is that the existing risk community, including chief risk officers has caused the world to believe that ERM means creating a list of risk and managing it.

It's their obligation to society to fix that. It is not what risk management should be. It never was what risk management was intended to do, which is to help executives and boards make better decisions.
